Wednesday, July 27th 7PM – Shepard Park, Summer Concert Series
Music virtuoso John Jorgenson, known for his blistering guitar licks and mastery of a broad musical palette, has earned a reputation as a world-class musician and guitarist who has collaborated with the likes of Elton John, Luciano Pavarotti, Bonnie Raitt and Bob Dylan. Currently touring as the John Jorgenson Quintet, Jorgenson creates a unique musical experience that equally enthralls the most discerning and the casual music fan. The group’s style has been called “gypsy jazz” after the dynamic string-driven swing created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in 1930s Paris, but Jorgenson’s compositions draw in elements from Latin, Romanian, Classical, Rock and Greek music, so “21st Century World Music” is perhaps a more apt description.

The big band sound takes over at 6:00pm with the sensational Grand Central Station headlining Friday’s opening acts.
Live music begins at 12noon on Saturday with John Strong’s Stony Creek Band taking center stage followed by The Bluz House Rockers featuring Hall of Fame singer Trish Anderson. The festival’s top attraction headlines Saturday’s music when “Groovin” brings its show and concert to center stage. The awesome show specializes in re-creating the most popular artists and songs throughout the greatest decades of the British Invasion and America’s Pop & Rock scene, the 60’s & 70’s. Billed as one of America’s biggest and best multi-act tribute shows “Groovin” is not only fun but will delight audiences with a trip back to the 60’s & 70’s with an “out of sight” experience,” said Mayor Blais, the festival’s chairman. The recently played at Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget Casino.
The festival provides funds to protect Lake George and continues Sunday with locally popular musicians Jonathan Newell’s band opening for the dynamic Audiostars, returning to Shepard Park for an encore performance.
The festival also features a beer/wine tent, food vendors, pony rides and children’s bounce houses. Area Girl Scouts will also have a “Ga-Ga Pit” and the Lake George Park Commission will have boat wash demonstrations.
Admission is a $10.00 donation or a $25 weekend pass. Children under 16 are free. All proceeds benefit the fight against invasive species. The festival has raised over $22,000 to support the lake’s new mandatory boat inspection program. Any questions call Lake George Village 668-5771.

Summer Concert Series, Wed. Aug. 10, 7PM Galactic Cowboy Orchestra - Video Preview Click Here!
Since 2009, the Minneapolis-based Galactic Cowboy Orchestra has stretched their own musical limits with album after album of intensely energetic ART-ROCK (A type of rock music, often with poetic lyrics, characterized by sophisticated harmonic, dynamic and technical complexity based on forms derived from classical (and jazz) music and requiring performers of considerable training and skill.) It sounds so serious, but when you combine that type of music with four fun-loving musicians (violin, bass, guitar, drums) who don’t take themselves too seriously and who have a love of so much music beyond art-rock, you get a bit of magic in live music form. The GCO appreciates and aspires to superior musicianship while combining their love of a good riff, hummable melody and groovy jam… over a jazz/jazz-rock musical bedrock.
Our restaurant, Giovanna’s On The Lake is open for the season with Breakfast Daily 7AM – 11AM. (Saturday, August 13 – Breakfast is 7AM-10AM).Lunch is served from our Cabana Bar and starts at 11AM. Dinner Service is 5PM – 9PM. Early Bird Menu 5PM-6PM (seated by 6PM).
